My little Miss LadyBug is a budding fashionista in her own right! While big sis has the corner market on the edgier side of things, Miss LadyBug loves a comfy, cozy dress year round, and if it has pockets, it has just become her new favorite. So when she received a beautiful new dress from Freckles + Kitty, she had an instant new fave! This is a definite fall or winter dress that is must-have for the girl on the go in your house!
For hubby, he is definitely the far more stylish one of the two of us so he is on always on a quest to find fashion-forward accessories that not only look great and work well, but also fit in well with our eco-friendly lifestyle. When he received a pair of bamboo sunglasses from Woodwear for this review, I knew that a match was made in heaven!
Depending on where you are in the country, it would seem that spring and summer may never arrive. Here in Wisconsin, we are experiencing what many forecasters are lovingly referring to as “the polar vortex”. With temperatures well below zero, it is hard to think about spring, but I find for my sanity, I need to do just that! In an unusual twist of events, I lost weight over this long winter and have been in need of some new spring and summer clothes, so I was excited to work with prAna because I could find new fashionable, sustainable clothing for myself, but also work with a company that believes in sustainability, giving back and green living. I received an outfit from prAna in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think?
I am absolutely in awe of how the prAna brand works – they use organic cotton, recycled materials and natural fibers to create beautiful and unique textiles that not only look great, but also function well, too. Their focus on using green manufacturing processes flows through from beginning to end and the end result of sustainable clothing and products is amazing, eco-friendly and something that every other clothing company should strive to achieve. Their use of bold prints mixed with more neutral tones will draw you and have you asking for more.
A couple of years ago, hubby got me a DSLR for my birthday. I will tell you – two years later and I am still 75% clueless on all of the things that it can do, but I still love it! My goal for 2014 includes learning how to better use my camera and to take it more places so I can get better pictures. The roadblock to that is, hauling it! Anyone who owns a DSLR knows that when you go somewhere, you end up hauling around a huge and ugly camera bag in addition to all of your other bags so that you can have your camera, your main lens, specialty lenses and so many other accessories. I have run the gauntlet of bags and have a small pile of camera bags that I have tried, used and hated. They all hold my camera – but that is about it. There is the mini-backpack style, the fanny pack style (yikes!), the “this screams I am just a camera bag” style and many others that I am sure you would recognize. While all along, all I wanted was a way to carry my camera with my day-to-day without making it an event or wrapping my expensive camera in miscellaneous items to protect it in my purse. The creator of Epiphanie Bags also had that same struggle and set out to create a line of stylish and functional camera bags! I received a camera bag in exchange for my honest opinion.

When leggings made a comeback sometime ago, I figured I would never be able to wear them, being a curvy gal. I simply assumed that if I tried I would A. Look pregnant B. Look lumpy C. look lump and… Continue reading
One of my favorite ways to save money is to have items that can pull double duty. Something that does “day to night”? That is definitely my arena. One thing I have somewhat struggled finding is a great purse that… Continue reading
The weather in Wisconsin is finicky to say the very least. This week we went from more than thirty below zero for two days, to nearly forty degrees four days later. Needless to say, that when this happens a week after you had a lot of snow, it is wet, slushy and a bit slippery! When the weather turns like this, it is often this time of year that I stop wearing high heels to work or out for fun because I hate hauling around my giant snowboots in the “in between” weather and typically galoshes are just as big and cumbersome to tote around as snowboots. So when I heard about PYSIS, the fashion-forward, unique-design galoshes, I knew I this was something I had to learn more about! I received a pair of PYSIS overboot galoshes in exchange for my honest opinion.
When it comes to be cozy and snuggly, no one knows how to do that better than Miss LadyBug, and certainly not with the amount of style that this kid can pull it off with. Most days when we walk in the door, Miss LadyBug will bee line upstairs to get herself changed from her boring “day” clothes and into something more comfortable and cozy, like sleepers. The problem she runs into is, the days we have to run somewhere else after dinner and she has to change back into regular clothes, since I do not just let her roam about in public in her pajamas anymore. This week, she received what is now her most treasured and favorite clothing item ever: a one-piece jumpsuit from OnePiece! We received a OnePiece jumpsuit in exchange for our honest opinions.
What did Miss LadyBug think?
She literally squealed outloud when I pulled the jumpsuit from OnePiece out of its packaging. Fortunately the blinds were still pulled in the kitchen where we opened it, as the kiddo was out of her clothes and into her OnePiece in a matter of moments!
When it comes to clothes, I adore the romantic-type styles like the Renaissance or Boho styles – flowy dresses and skirts, ruffles, soft fabrics, feminine and flattering lines. The trick is, finding this style of clothing in my size, that is also within my budget. HolyClothing, a family-owned clothing business, is just that! They offer handmade dresses, skirts and tops in the romantic style featuring Boho, Peasant, Renaissance and Gypsy styles that is exclusive to their company and beautifully made. I received a top from HolyClothing in exchange for my honest opinion.

When perusing the HolyClothing website, it is hard not to get lost in the rabbit hole of beautiful Boho and Gypsy styles! With whimsical dresses and skirts that will leave you feeling beautiful and empowered, to tops that can be dressed up or down with a simple accessory or layering change – there is so much to see! When I first came across the Renata Top, I fell in love and just kept coming back to it. This Boho Gypsy Style tunic top, features a beautiful kimono-type cross wrap, and a detailed sash to pull it together. Available in eight colors, it was hard to choose the right color! I selected the Sapphire Blue, since this shade of blue is huge this season, as well as being appropriate for the upcoming New Year’s celebrations and beyond. This tunic top is made from Rayon/Viscose, leaving it soft against your skin as well as light and airy. I chose to layer mine with another jewel tone creating a fun and flirty look that is as comfortable as it is stunning. The embroidered details on the sash and sleeve add a whimsical element that I really love and makes the entire top visually appealing.
