One of my favorite products in the world because of its sheer versatility is coconut oil! Seriously – you can eat, clean with it, moisturize with it and make things, too! Baking or frying: coconut oil does it all! I received a 16-ounce container of organic coconut oil from Thera Vita in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think of the organic coconut oil?
The organic coconut oil from Thera Vita comes in a white plastic container – which I have mixed feelings on. I like that because it keeps the coconut oil in a dark state and not exposing it to the sun’s rays if out on your counter (which can break it down), however, I typically try to avoid consumable products in plastic containers, particularly those that are not labeled with if it is BPA-free, etc, or not. That notion aside, I do like that this coconut oil is USDA Organic – I have seen several coconut oil brands claim to be organic, but when you examine the labels, you cannot find any governing body that has authenticated that claim. It does give a certain peace of mind knowing that this is USDA-certified.
This coconut oil had a nice clean taste and blended well into my morning smoothie. I also used it to mixed up a small batch of body butter and its consistency was just perfect and it whipped nicely. I found this particular body butter to be quite moisturizing and long-lasting – since this was the only change in my recipe, I would attribute that increase in quality to the organic coconut oil!
If you are looking for an organic coconut oil that you can cook with, consume and make beauty products with – the organic coconut oil from Thera Vita is a great place to start! You can grab a jar on Amazon right now for under $20 or go big with the 30-ounce size and really get a lot of use!
